The old technology will always exist along with new technologies. The complete rolling out from old technology is not at all practicable. At some times adoption of old technologies will be inevitable. But knowing about the old technologies and mastering of new innovations and further innovations will strengthen the society.

Some ideas will find millions of takers but there is no business in it . It is hard to find a marketer who is ready to upgrade the customer's old machine. He is there to sell his new machine. After all he is not doing social work, Try these questions

1. Is there a company who will give incentives to marketman who upgrades its already sold old product ?
2. How many new products exist which have parts designed to fit in old products to upgrade them ?

The integration of new technologies with old is natural process. If we learn from nature, the ultimate "Guru", we will be far better in all integrations. The new technologies can never replace old since the new one is normally a growth.
Where we all make mistakes is when we think either the " Old os Gold" & stick to it or when we rubbish all that is old. For any effective growth the old & new has to integrated in a new way.
